Apostle Jones is a dynamic, soul band 9-person ensemble that bends styles and genres to create a uniquely collaborative energy and sound. Pulling from collective influences of rock, R’n’B, blues, gospel, and funk, the Apostles soar with original music and a contagious joy for their hometown Cleveland, OH. Apostle Jones features Mikey Silas (lead singer), Michael Haburay (guitar), Owen Brodhead (keys), Jinari Kemet (guitar/bass), Sebastain Mango (bass), Rashon Blake (drums), Bria Miller (vocals), Love Freely (vocals), Charlie Wilson (tenor sax), Eric Levine (trumpet) and Max Schlenk (alto sax). They unite audiences with the music, positive vibes and gratitude, leaving crowds jonesing for more.

In 2023 they won awards as Best Band (Cleveland Scene), Best Music Artist (Cleveland Magazine) and Best Blues Band (Cleveland Music Awards) and features Mikey Silas who was one of the only LGBTQ+ representations in Cleveland Magazine’s Most Interesting People of 2024, for his work in the Cleveland music community. Apostle is known for sharing the spotlight having brought on rising Cleveland performers like TobyRaps, James Begin (Tropidelic) and Henry LoConti into their shows. Founder/Band Lead Singer/Songwriter Mikey Silas (bio)

Leading singer and songwriter Mikey Silas, is a multi-dimensional and award winning performing artist and producer, from Cleveland, Ohio. He has been described as emulating artists like David Bowie, BB King, Chris Stapleton, Patti LaBelle and Bob Dylan. He grew up listening to soul and classic rock records that belonged to his father and taught himself how to play piano to Lionel Richie tunes and pop hits on the radio. As one of Cleveland’s “Most Interesting People” of 2024 (Cleveland Magazine) he has transformed the Cleveland music scene and culture with his charismatic and immersive shows (Beachland Ballroom ‘The Holiday Special’, Grog Shop ‘Blues and Soul Slam’) and is front man for his power-house, 10-person style-bending and message driven soul/funk/rock/blues band Apostle Jones. He has won regional awards in the categories of Best Male Vocalist, Best Singer-Songwriter and /or Band and Blues Band (Cleveland Music Awards) every year since 2020. He has an insatiable grass roots drive to build-up community and curates several gateway events for emerging artists and creatives at local music venues. He is known for his collaborative approach to his projects and stage shows, often including other talent to share the biggest moments of his performing life. He is also a visual artist as well as a stage/film actor. He adds a decade’s worth of experience as a Chicago actor/producer to his efforts in his hometown and beyond. He builds community into every single event he sets his mind to.
